The First Presbyterian Health Ministry is a church-based ministry which is focused on the whole person- mind, body, and spirit. It will assist in the maintenance of health and wellness of the church. The ministry is directed by the parish nurse and is composed of volunteers who wish to be of service to our church family.
The ministry members help to provide transportation for those who need to go to the doctor, shopping or other appointments. They also will go into the home to help with general maintenance and odd jobs, provide intermittent respite care in the home to give relief to caregivers, and call individuals on a regular basis to check up to see if they need any assistance or to become a phone friend.
The parish nurse is available at the church every Tuesday morning from 8-10 AM to take blood pressures, discuss health issues or questions, and to provide any assistance that is needed.
Those interested in joining the ministry can contact Sue Shillady RN, Parish Nurse at 863-531-0048. If assistance is needed by you or a family member or a friend you can also call Sue or the Church office.
