ASH WEDNESDAY On Wednesday, February 22, we will not be having regular small group ministry. Instead, the congregation will be meeting in Friendship Hall for a special Ash Wednesday gathering. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. Lent is a period of time that we use to prepare us spiritually for the Easter celebration. The gathering will consist of a potluck dinner (A-L bring meat or main dish; N-Z bring salad, side dish, or dessert), music, teaching, and the Lord's Supper. We will start at 6:00 PM.

STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL BUS TRIP For $20.00 you can get a round trip bus ride to the Strawberry Festival and this will also take care of admission. WEAR YOUR CROSS The Christian season of Lent is upon us. Christians rejoice! Hallelujah! The season culminates on Easter, the finished work of the Cross accomplished. Have you considered wearing your cross throughout the season, bearing witness to our Christian faith, that we are not ashamed of the Gospel, which is the power of God for our salvation? The day that we will be folding the newsletter is March 2. WOMEN'S MINISTRY RETREAT March 9 and 10 at the FFA Campground Center in Haines City. The theme is "Grace, Prayer, and Quietness." The speaker will be Mrs. Valerie Shepard. First session begins Friday, 7:00 PM. The cost of the conference is $75.00 for double occupancy. Please pick up the registration form in the church office and mail to Louise Pick at 108 Melanie Dr., Lake Placid. Louise will mail all the rreservations at one time. To plan on transportation needs or for questions, please call Louise at 699-0844.
HEARING IMPAIRED PHONES There are 2 amplified telephones in the church office for those who have a difficult time hearing on the telephone. If you would like to have one, please call the church office at 465-2742.
CASSETTE DUPLICATION If you know a shut-in who would like to receive a worship service CD or cassette tape, please write their name on the pew pad with their phone number and Bob Asbury, our Church Historian, will deliver a copy of the service to that person.
OUTREACH CENTER PRAYER SIGN-UP SHEET Prayer Warriors, would you pray for the Outreach Center a few minutes each day? The goal is to pray daily, specifically as we pursue the fulfillment of God's plan for our church. The focus of this request is for the provision of the additional resources and completion of our Outreach Center. You may find a sign-up sheet in the north foyer and also in the church office. There is also a list of Prayer Points that would assist you with our prayer needs.
SUNDAY MORNING COFFEE MAKER We would like to serve coffee each Sunday morning between the worship services on the patio since the weather is so enjoyable. However; we are going to need volunteers to help with this ministry. If you think that you would like to do this, please call the church office at 465-2742.
CHURCH PICTORIAL DIRECTORY Now available for $10.00 each for the directory book or $5.00 for the CD. You may purchase the directory in the church office Monday - Friday from 8:30 - 3:00 P.M.
FLOWER CALENDAR The new 2012 flower calendar is posted in the north foyer. If you would like to schedule flowers for a loved one in memory or in honor of, you may write in the date. Flowers are $55.00 per bouquet. You may call Sandy Mathews for flower orders at 699-5737.
GRANDMA, DO YOU KNOW MOSES? Bobbie Cline, one of our own members, has written and published her own book entitled Grandma, Do You Know Moses? This book has 10 true life stories of children's spiritual experiences. The book is available in the church office for $10.99 and will make an excellent gift.
NURSERY HELP WANTED The nursery is looking for 2011-2012 helpers for the new school year! Postions needed include Sundays for both services and Sunday school, Tuesdays from 9 - 10 AM, Wednesdays from 7 - 9 PM, and the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month for MOPS. MULTIMEDIA TEAM Looking for a way to serve? Consider being part of FPC's multimedia team. Come learn how to run the Easy Worship program that is used on Sunday mornings to project the words and video clips. Only basic computer skills are required. We would like to have 4 people for each service so that each person would help only 1 Sunday a month. God has given each of us many talents. Please consider using your talents in this ministry. MANNA MINISTRIES In order to meet the needs of those unable to support themselves or unable to find work in this difficult economy, Manna needs food, clothing, and funds to buy food in bulk. Food for Manna may be placed in the boxes located in the north foyer and in Friendship Hall. Clothing may be dropped off at Manna Ministries, 416 Kent Avenue, Lake Placid between 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Funds (checks) may be mailed directly to Manna Ministries or dropped in the offering plate. Your help is very much appreciated.
MANNA NEEDS AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST - Spanish speaking as well as English speaking, who are available (by appointment) to share the Bread of Life with clients who have questions on spiritual matters. If you would like to serve in this way, please contact Bill Kist at 465-1477.
