GREETINGS and WELCOME to this service in celebration and worship of our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  If you are a visitor, we extend a special welcome to you, and invite you to make First Presbyterian Church your church home.  We receive members by profession of faith in Jesus Christ, by reaffirmation of faith in Jesus Christ, and by transfer of membership from another Christian congregation.  Please ask one of the pastors or an elder for more information or call the church office, at 863-465-2742.

 

NURSERY OPENED-- For the 8:00, 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM Sunday morning worship services, for ages 3 years and under.  Temperature checks will be taken.  No symptoms nor fever of 100.4+ will be accepted for the safety of all children. 

 

If you know of anyone who is in the hospital or nursing home, please call the church office to let the pastors know so they can be visited and included in prayer.  We encourage you to pray for, call, or send cards to those who are hospitalized, or homebound.  It will certainly make a difference in their lives to know that someone cares and is praying for them.

 

A big THANK you goes out to all those who donated blood this past Sunday.  We had thirteen people volunteer to donate and collected eleven pints of blood.

 

WEDNESDAY EVENING—Due to Thanksgiving break, there will not be nursery, children’s ministry, youth ministry, and small groups on Wednesday, November 25th, The church office will not be open Thursday, and Friday, November 26th, and 27th,  for Thanksgiving break.

 

THE GOSPEL OF JOHN SERIES--The following are the next month’s texts that Pastor Ray will be preaching from. SOUP BAR FOR THE CHRISTMAS BAZAAR--The annual soup lunch and bakery sale is happening on December 5th, during the Women’s Christmas Bazaar.  This is one of the big annual fundraisers for women’s ministry.  We need soup makers and goodie bakers.  Could you prepare some to donate?  Food can be dropped off on Friday, December 4th, during office hours or that Saturday in the Genesis Center morning by 9:00 AM.  Call or text Michelle at 863-441-2351 or email at michellebrew64@gmail.com to volunteer or for more information.

 

HEY PARENTS!!!  HEADS UP…Very Important Notice…

There will be NO Sunday School during the 11:00 service on November 29, Thanksgiving weekend.   Nursery will still be available to 3 years and younger.  We will be giving our Wonderful Volunteers a break to spend time with their families!  Your children will remain seated with you during that service.  However, we will have a Special Thanksgiving Worship Packet for All the children!  Available in the Foyer!  Thank You Volunteers!!  You are Appreciated!!

 

FPC will be participating in the Lake Placid Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 12th.  They are in need of newspaper for the float decorations.  If you receive the newspaper at home, you may recycle it by bringing it to the church after you are done reading it. You may bring it on Sunday morning (a special box for the newspaper will be provided) or Monday-Friday, to the church office from 8:30 AM -3:00 PM.

 

COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICE—This afternoon, at 4:00 PM in the Genesis Center, FPC will once again have the honor of hosting the Lake Placid Christian Ministerial Association’s Community Thanksgiving Worship Service.  Several local pastors will be participating in the service.  We are asking everyone to wear a mask upon entering and exiting.  Special music will be coordinated by Joshua Klatt.  Everyone is invited to come worship with fellow brothers and sisters who share a common belief in the good news of Jesus Christ.  An offering will be received to support Manna Ministries and New Testament Mission.  In addition, please bring a canned good for Manna Ministries. 

 

CHRISTIAN WRITERS GROUP-is postponing their meeting until after the first of the year.  They will announce when they will start back again.

 

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL—Grow in grace and Christ.  Grow in your understanding of God’s Word and in how it applies to your daily life.  Attend one of the two classes at 9:15 AM and at 10:45 AM in the small hall.

JESUS LIFE DECALS- This is a strategic way to demonstrate that you are a follower of Jesus. Decals are on sale in the Gathering area after worship service each Sunday and in the church office Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM-3:00 PM, for only $5.00 each.  The decal also includes our Church name and website. The decal has a clear background with white lettering.

 

WINTER RETREAT FOR OUR YOUTHWinter Retreat early registration starts now.  The date for the retreat is February 5-7, 2021. The cost is $89.00.  If you register after December 15th, 2020, the cost will be $99.00.  This retreat is for 6th grade to 12th grade.  You may register by going to our website www.fpclp.org and then click on to the Winter Retreat registration.  You may call the church office if you have any questions, 863/465-2742.

 

NEWSLETTER DEADLINE— We would like to encourage all the

different ministries to be sure that you get your news and announcements

 into the church newsletter this month.  The deadline for the December newsletter is Friday, November 27th. You may email your articles to Cynthia Gambill at c1wave@yahoo.com.

 

PERSONAL NOTE OF ENCOURAGEMENT MINISTRY-During this time of sheltering in place, our especially vulnerable FPC brothers and sisters in Christ, who reside at home, in nursing homes, or in Assisted Living Facilities, need to know that their church family loves them.  One way we can do this is by mailing them personal notes of encouragement.  A list of these folks, along with their mailing addresses, is available in the church office.

 

GIVING TREE-The Giving Trees are now up in the north foyer and the Genesis Center. Please take a tag off the tree, buy a $20 gift limit, wrap it, tape the tag to gift, and return it by Sunday, December 6th. Thank you for your participation.  The gifts goes to families of Grace Ministry.

TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH 45TH ANNIVERSARY-This event is Sunday December 6th, at 2:00 PM, at 25 Lakeview St., in Lake Placid and will be outdoors. There will be a picnic and concert on the lawn.  They are asking for a $5.00 donation to cover the meal.
